Parts of a Book Action Rhyme

A hands-on action rhyme for demonstrating how to handle a book and identify its parts.

Here’s a lovely book of mine,
Here’s the cover, here’s the spine.
Here’s some info that is vital:
Author, illustrator, title.
Open it just like a door,
Turn the pages to explore.
When you’re finished, say, “The End,”
And then you close it up again.

Skills and Benefits:

Vocabulary, phonological awareness, handling a book, identifying parts of a book.
