Winter Reading Challenge 2021 — Sing, Craft, and Read!
Can you sing, craft, and read for eight (8) days this winter break? Complete these eight challenges and get a special certificate — see below for a worksheet to fill out as you go!
Ms. Christina will walk you through each day — step-by-step — with a video demonstration. You will get a warm-up song, a craft demo, and a book presentation. Are you ready? Let’s go!

Day 1 – Make a Wrapping Paper Snowflake
You will need:
- A square of wrapping paper, a pair of scissors
- Any book to read — try fiction!
Day 2 – Make a Marshmallow and Toothpick Snowflake
You will need:
- Marshmallows, toothpicks
- Any book to read — try nonfiction!
Day 3 – Make a Marshmallow and Toothpick House
You will need:
- Marshmallows, toothpicks
- Any book to read — try a biography!
Day 4 – Make a Shaker from a Toilet Paper Roll
You will need:
- A toilet paper roll (or paper towel roll), construction paper (or wrapping paper), a pair of scissors, sturdy tape, clear tape
- Any book to read — try another book by your favorite author!

Day 7 – Make a Cotton Swab Sun
You will need:
- Cotton swabs, a pair of scissors, construction paper, a yellow circle, white school glue
- Any book to read — try a book about a different country!
Day 8 – Make a Cotton Swab Daisy
You will need:
- Cotton swabs, a pair of scissors, construction paper, a yellow circle, three twisty ties (preferably green), white school glue
- Read any book — try a book with a different language!
